Application of nanoiron and ferrates for municipal wastewater treatment

The Project „Application of nanoiron and ferrates for municipal wastewater treatment“ under the acronyme Nanoradi was solved under financial support from the Ministry of Industry and the Trade under TIP programme in 2011 – 2014.

The project was focused on developing and application of innovative technologies for toxicological and hygiene standards of treated wastewater using zerovalent iron nanoparticles (nZVI - materials releasing hydroxyl radicals). Hygienically and toxicologically secured effluents from municipal wastewater treatment plants with size from 500 to 10 000 PE (project was focused on them) fulfilling guaranteed limits can serve as a valuable source of water that can be used as recycled water in various applications.

Consortium consisted of ASIO Ltd., RAWAT consulting, s.r.o., Institute of Botany Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, v.v.i.Palacký University Olomouc.
