An ideal wastewater treatment plant constructed under the notification duty and discharging to subsurface infiltration systems

The AS-IDEAL PZV wastewater treatment plant is particularly suitable in places, where it is not possible to discharge cleaned wastewater to sewers, water streams, agricultural drains, etc. It is designed for family houses, hotels, boarding houses and other various facilities.

This type range of household treatment plants has been created by a combination of the AS-MONA plastic cast tanks providing the necessary stability and the German AS-Klärmax IDEAL built-in sections providing top efficiency as the reaction to stricter outlet parameters stipulated recently by the Government Regulations No. 57/2016 Coll., and No. 401/2015 Coll.

Treatment technology description

AS-IDEAL PZV is an activation & aerobic wastewater treatment plant. The contaminants contained in wastewater are removed by mechanical-biological processes in the so-called SBR reactor. In the aeration process, a simple tank and a time-controlled purification cycle running during the day are used. On the other hand, the sedimentation phase is intended for night hours, which reflects the usual household conditions.

  • Phase I – this is the aeration phase, during which the tank is being filled and aerobic purification processes take place; floating microorganisms aggregated to flocculi remove organic impurities resulting in the aerobic degradation process and convert them to biomass.
  • Phase II – the sedimentation process follows very quickly during night hours and flocculi sedimentation creates an interface between the activated sludge and cleaned water.
  • Phase III – After the sedimentation process, which usually lasts some 1.5 hours, cleaned water is drawn off to the discharge trough or to the tank for sampling by the use of an airlift pump.

Use of the individual AS-Klärmax IDEAL built-in section in an existing tank or digestion (septic) tank:

In case of a suitable geometrical similarity, it will be possible to use the AS-Klärmax IDEAL built-in section even independently during refurbishment or intensification projects in existing facilities, with the aim of achieving the values stipulated by the Governmental Regulations. In places, where the plant tank is travelled over by various vehicles, then the built-in section can be placed inside concrete tanks.

Values that are usually achieved in continuously occupied premises in cases of typical water-right proceedings are as follows: COD = 130 mg/l, BOD5 = 30mg/l, insoluble materials = 30 mg/l, NH4-N = 20 mg/l, Ntotal = 30 mg/l, Ptotal = 8 mg/l.

Equipment installation

The equipment installation is easy – the tank is placed into an excavation pit, then it is connected to a sewer and, by the hoses running in the protective sleeve, to the control cabinet (blower, valves and distributing panel). Consequently, the cabinet is connected to power supply (240 V).


The equipment advantage is a high level of sludge min-eralisation, which results in low sludge production. All the sludge quantity is aerobically stabilised.

Depending on the type of wastewater treatment plants, there are several disposal possibilities of surplus sludge:
- SS type: another tank or external dewatering equipment,
- SSC type: integrated dewatering equipment (optionally supplied with the plant); the dewatered sludge can be then composted. The composters are also offered by ASIO, spol. s r.o.,
- Easy type: the sludge is directly drawn off from the process and transported to a larger wastewater treatment plant (usually a municipal plant).


If the relevant wastewater treatment plant is to be operated within the conventional water-right proceedings, it is advisable to install an accumulation tank (for sampling) into the equipment. In such case, it will be possible to take the simple samples in a one-off operation, which is more advantageous.

Other possibilities

The wastewater treatment plant can be additionally fitted with a pump and the whole process adjust for the purpose of using the storage space in the plant directly for irrigation, without any further tank being necessary.
The wastewater treatment plant can be monitored by the AS-GSM application. This makes possible to monitor the operations and inform the owner about failures (if any) by SMS messages.
Sanitation safety can be provided by an UV lamp; if required by the hydrogeologist, wastewater treatment plant will be supplied with the UV lamp.
