The project “Development of a new technology of recyclable dyeing baths in dyeing process of cellulosic materials”, with the working title TECH4REC, is carried out with financial support from the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic under the SIGMA-DC2 programme (7th public competition) in the years 2025–2026.

The consortium consists of the main beneficiary University of Pardubice (Faculty of chemical technology) and other partners ASIO TECH, Ltd., PLEAS, Ltd. and CREA Hydro&Energy

The aim of this project is the development of applicable and sustainable technology for spent dyeing baths recycling. Spent dyeing baths used for dyeing of cotton and other natural fibres contain sodium chloride, mixture of unused dyes and auxiliary agents (surfactants). The developed technology enables recycling of aq. NaCl utilizable for preparation of new dyeing baths (according to the principles of Zero Liquid Discharge). Due to these reasons, saving of both water and NaCl consumption will be achieved and significant decrease of contamination of water resources with dissolved inorganic salts, chemical oxygen demand and adsorbable organically bound halogens will be reached. The subsequent utilization of sludges obtained in recycling process will be developed.
