Research on process optimization towards better efficiency of wastewater treatment in small towns by extensive technologies

Project „Research on process optimization towards better efficiency of wastewater treatment in small towns by extensive technologies“ under acronyme Dočištění was solved with financial support from the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic under programme for support of applied research and experimental development ALFA in 2012 - 2014.

The aim of the project was using the advantages of extensive wastewater treatment technologies to increase the treatment efficiency and to eliminate some problems associated with their use, particularly the issue with colmatage of filter cartridges. New opportunities for treating wastewater are interesting also for the smaller plants located at the countryside. Project was focused on the recognition of extensive technologies as an equivalent to the classical mechanical-biological wastewater treatment plants in the Czech Republic. One of the developed technologies is filter for discharged from open-air settling tanks or biological tanks. Another technologies are equipment for intensification e.g. root zone wastewater treatment plants or soil filter.

Consortium consisted of T.G.Masaryk Water Research Institute, ASIO Ltd. and BioEnviro s.r.o.
