From waste to commodities

Project „From waste to commodities“ was solved under financial support of Ministry of Agriculture under KUS framework programme in 2013 - 2016.

The main objective of the project was to develop recycling technology for materials that are currently considered as waste materials, applicable especially in agriculture. Technology of scarce and essential nutrient - phosphorus in the form of soil conditioner from treated wastewater have been developed. Also possibility of obtaining phosphorus from other streams rich in phosphorus was examined and explored. Dealing with yellow waters for direct fertilization or acquisition of phosphorus soil conditioner was also optimized. In addition, the project addresses the possibility of application of treated greywater as an irrigation water. The last objective was the processing of liquid and solid wastes from biogas plants and their subsequent use in agriculture.

Consortium consisted of Institute of Botany of Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, v.v.i., PROJEKTY VODAM s.r.o. and ASIO Ltd.
