In terms of our long-term cooperation, with its start dated back to 2007, we were successful in the autumn 2022 to obtain an order for the production of three pieces of pickling tanks again. Based on the drawings supplied by the customer, we commenced the production of these tanks in November. Each tank is six metres long, approx. 2.5 metres wide, and their total height is approx. 2.5 metres.

The end customer is the Brazilian steel works. The process tanks are used for pickling of steel wires during their manufacturing procedures. It is a robust plastic structure, which is evidenced by the fact that the tank contains a solution of 20% acid at temperatures reaching even the level of 80 ⁰C.  In structural terms, the tanks are secured against the heavily loaded content by plastic-coated steel frames.

The tank production itself requires adherence to the technological procedures for welding of polypropylene boards of various thicknesses from 10 mm to 40 mm. In order to achieve the required accuracy, the processed material is cut by water jets. Some parts, such as connecting flanges, are machined by CNC machine tools to high-degree accuracy.

… and during their consequent loading to heavy trucks transporting them to the Port of Hamburg for their shipment to an ocean-going vessel.
