Wastewater Treatment Plants

We are currently completing the installation of a wastewater treatment plant for the Tribulaunhütte mountain hut in South Tyrol. This is a passive standard wastewater treatment plant, i.e. without electricity, and technologically it consists of a coarse mechanical pre-treatment represented by a coarse screen separator, the second stage of treatment is a six-chamber septic tank equipped with anaerobic biomass carriers in the last chambers, followed by three parallel lines of biological treatment on multilayer vertically flowing filters, also with a growth culture. The last stage of treatment is a sand-gravel filter.

The capacity of this wastewater treatment plant is designed for 45 equivalent inhabitants. In this case, despite the installation altitude of 2064 m above sea level, we did not have to transport the treatment plant tanks by helicopter this time, but it was sufficient to divide them into tanks weighing up to 900 kg, which could be transported to the installation site using a wheeled excavator.
