AS-AKU FILTR

Rainwater pre-treatment and control shaft…

Rainwater, especially when there is intensive rain or rainstorms, contains many surface pollutants, such as soil, sand, leaves, chips from roofs or consolidated surfaces and others. In the course of rainwater infiltration, this mechanical dirt may gradually obstruct infiltration structures, reducing their accumulation volume. At the same time, this dirt may obstruct the throttling device of the outlet to the sewerage system, which is required when connection is possible.

Therefore, our company has developed a multi-functional patented device for the pre-treatment and outflow of rainwater – the AS-AKU FILTR pre-treatment and control shaft. The AS-AKU FILTR device combines filtration and sedimentation equipment, which ensures an efficient removal of mechanical dirt from rainwater that may obstruct infiltration structures, reducing their accumulation volume. If the drain is connected to the sewerage system, the outflow of pre-treated rainwater in the shaft is controlled to maintain the required maximum flow.

Benefits of the AS-AKU FILTR pre-treatment structure

  • Filtration of mechanical dirt
  • Sedimentation of fine particles (dust, fine sand)
  • Accumulation space for the initial and most polluted inflow
  • Saving the required accumulation space for infiltration/retention
  • Inflow filtration and outflow control in one structure
  • Simple cleaning and inspections of infiltration structures

Retention and pollution

The AS-AKU FILTR serves not only as a filter, but also as a sedimentation and retention tank, thus it does not increase the total price of the infiltration solution. The initial inflow of rainwater brings the greatest share of pollution. This inflow is accumulated in the pre-treatment structure, protecting the infiltration tunnels or blocks from the bulk of the pollution.

Accumulation space

Its volume allows the AS-AKU FILTR shaft to save accumulation space that would otherwise have to be supplemented with other infiltration tunnels or blocks. In addition, reliable pre-treatment prevents a gradual clogging of infiltration structures, such as would cause a reduction of the accumulation volume. Another advantage of the shaft is the possibility of using it as a connecting structure for several sources of rainwater.

Outflow control

Rainwater is further drained via a filter incorporated in the shaft, to an infiltration structure or to the sewerage system through controlled outflow. After the filling of the accumulation space of the AS-AKU FILTR shaft, which retains the first surge of the inflow with the highest pollution rate, rainwater is drained over an overflow with a filter, to the accumulation space of the infiltration tunnels or block.
After the rain ends, accumulated water is gradually infiltrated or drained in a controlled manner to the sewerage system.

Inspection shaft

Captured mechanical dirt gradually settles on the bottom of the AS-AKU FILTR shaft under the level of the outflow pipe, thanks to the whirlpool sedimentation effect. At the same time, the sedimentation space is protected from any settled dirt rising back to the volume of the AS-AKU FILTR. During the outflow, dirt, such as dust and fine sand, is also brought into this space, which then gets into the infiltration structures. The AS-AKU FILTR provides access to the infiltration structures for more intensive cleaning, where you can pass a cleaning nozzle and flush the dirt from the accumulation space into the sedimentation space of the AS-AKU FILTR with a stream of water. From there, all sediment and mechanical dirt can be easily extracted with a cleaning vehicle to maintain the maximum capacity of the accumulation space.

Application

- Pre-treatment for infiltration structures
- Pre-treatment for retention structures
- Suitable supplement for the AS-NIDAPLAST and AS-KRECHT products

Why use the AS-AKU FILTR?

- The pre-treatment quality has a direct impact on the service life and properties of infiltration structures
- A single shaft for the inflow, outflow, and inspection of the infiltration system
- No additional structure or area – the shaft volume is fully used for retention
