The programme aims at highly motivated young scientists, combining state-of-the-art research with a comprehensive joint training programme on Resource, Product and Energy Recovery from Wastewater with a strong collaboration between academic and private partners. It provides 15 Ph.D. scholarships of 3 years each at one or more of the partner universities: Ghent University (Belgium), TU Delft (the Netherlands), RWTH Aachen University (Germany), University of Chemistry and Technology Prague (the Czech Republic), Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya-Barcelona Tech (Spain). The network is funded by the European Community through the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks. The researchers subscribe as well to a doctoral training programme which provides local expert training at the academic and non-academic partner organisations, a network-wide secondment scheme, internships and an intense series of network-wide training sessions, workshops and seminars. ASIO belongs to several chosen companies that can accept those young professionals.
