Sustainable sewage sludge management fostering phosphorus recovery and energy efficiency

The Project „Sustainable sewage sludge management fostering phosphorus recovery and energy efficiency“ under acronyme P-REX was solved under financial support of the 7th Framework Programme of European Union for small and medium enterprises in 2012 – 2015.

The P-REX project aimed to demonstrate and evaluate the available phosphorus recycling technologies and define the appropriate conditions for their use. Another goal was to define a strategy of phosphorus recycling from municipal water reflecting the different conditions in various regions. Another area of research was to define the potential of the market and assemble the technological, economic, social and institutional barriers and make recommendations for the implementation of the technologies for the market.

Consortium consisted of fifteen members from seven European countries – Germany, Switzerland, France, Finland, Czech Republic, Spain and Austria.
