Development of sustainable and cost effective water quality management technology for the aquaculture industry

The Project „Development of sustainable and cost effective water quality management technology for the aquaculture industry“ under acronyme RAZone was solved under financial support of the 7th Framework Programme of European Union for small and medium enterprises in 2013 – 2015.

The Razone project aimed to develop an innovative treatment and hygienization technology of water for fish breeding and cultivation. Required quality water is the key parameter for fish breeding and cultivation. The Razone technology is based on a combination of the flotation and ozonation process which evidence to be a very effective in case of this type of treatment. Ozone has many advantages in waste water treating but needs design standardisation and reliable control system.

Consortium consisted of ASIO Ltd., Normex AS from Norway, Statiflo International Ltd. from Great Britain, Primozone Production AB from Sweden, EDUR and Fraunhofer IGB, University of Liverpool, Technologisk Institutt from Norway. End-users were Anglesey Aquaculture Limited from Great Britain and Salmar Settefisk AS from Norway.
