The water-meter shaft is used for the installation of a water meter and the related fittings on the house connection, to make them easily accessible. The walls are normally equipped with passages for water supply pipes, in accordance with the sketch or as agreed with the customer. Standardized water-meter shafts are produced as self-supporting structures for walking-on or as structures designed for embedding in concrete, which can be located under driveways. Depending on the required shape, water-meter shafts can be further distinguished as rectangular or new circular shafts with the ROTO technology.

With regard to the place of installation, these four basic water-meter shaft types are offered:

AS-VODO A2 is designed for installation under the terrain level without further securing of the shaft (self-supporting design), only for walking-on (incident load max. 2 kN/m

AS-VODO is designed for installation below the groundwater table, embedded in concrete
AS-VODO Water-Meter Shaft
The water-meter shaft complies with the standardized specifications for bricked or concrete water-meter shafts with the inner ground plan dimensions of 900 x 1,200 mm, or the A2R type with the diameter of 1,133 mm. In the standard version, the water-meter shaft walls are equipped with passages for water supply pipes; see passage details.
The axis of the water supply connection is 300 mm above the foundation slab and 250 mm from the longitudinal axis of the water-meter shaft. Naturally, the location and type of passages can also be selected by the customer.
