Every day, several hectares of greenery are replaced by hard surfaces, which results in a large production of CO

and accelerated water draining from the relevant locality. Local temperature changes, reduces water reserves, and local floods are connected with these effects.
Elements of the so-called green architecture, e.g. green roofs belong among the measures mitigating such negative effects.
In addition, one of the most significant elements, are green permeable surfaces. However, their implementation is not usually well handled on the practical side; its concrete components can get hot excessively, dehydrate the surface and required base layers do not allow for well migration of water necessary for supporting the green parts. Surfaces covered with AS-TTE grids contribute to the effort for complex solutions eliminating such drawbacks.
Major advantages of surface structures with AS-TTE GRIDS
-
Robust structure
-
Sufficient load-bearing capacity even for lorry travelling
-
Spatial cohesion resulting in a reduction of requirements for base course thicknesses
-
Base course compositions enabling sorption of contaminants and their consequent decomposition
-
Base course enabling two-way water flowing for better vegetation growth
AS-TTE GRIDS represent an innovative and environmental-friendly way of surface reinforcements. By their use, it is possible to provide – at the same time - for traffic functions, user necessary comfort while preserving the existing draining conditions and other environmental aspects, both for large carpark areas as well as small parking places nearby family houses.
AS-TTE GRIDS – grass grids
Grass grids AS-TTE are intended for an average intensity of traffic and vegetation loading (e.g. drive-in areas to fire stations, less-frequented lanes, and parking places).
For the purposes of green area improvements, AS-TTE GRID can be used in two ways – either by seeding of grass onto already laid grids, or by setting the grids together with grown grass (as grassed pre-fab sections).
AS-TTE GRID used for paver laying
The hard (paved) AS-TTE GRID system is intended for highly intensive traffic and severe loading (e.g. for roads with mobile transport, heavily frequented traffic lanes and parking places). Pavers can be laid additionally or they can be supplied as already set pavers as a part of the AS-TTE GRID D system (while the latter rather exceptionally).
AS-TTE GRID – underground water protection
Base course usually used (containing sorbents) provide for catchment of insoluble contaminants and hydrocarbons with their consequent decomposition by microorganisms having there ideal conditions for their growth. This is a similar effect as that used in the design of soakaway furrows – (see TNV 75 90 11).
AS-TTE
GRID – used for reinforcement of base course
AS-TTE GRID can be used as a one layer in base course systems (concealed) for its reinforcement, for instance in cases of soggy grounds, where the locality natural character is to be preserved. Such requirements are usual in the protected landscape areas.
Professional gardeners use AS-TTE GRID often for park/landscape architecture, or garden designers for reinforcements of hard surfaces, e.g. in sport grounds.
AS-TTE
GRID
– used for tree protection
Due to spatial effects of interconnected grids, the pressure on tree roots in the places of their use is reduced, which represents a substantial condition for their growth. Insufficient protection of roots is a frequent cause for premature tree dying off, this even more often than because of water shortage.
