The project "Sanitation of sludge for smaller sources of pollution", Under acronyme  "Kaloman", is solved with the financial support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade under the Operational Program Enterprise and Innovation for Competitiveness - Application Call VIII.

The aim of the project is to verify five sludge sanitation technologies aimed primarily for smaller sources of pollution on an operational scale, to evaluate their operational and investment costs and the efficiency of pathogen inactivation for declaration of sufficient sludge sanitation. Furthermore, the development and optimization of  Sludge thickener will be performed, which will serve for sludge pre-treatment (its thickening) for stabilization technologies.

Five technologies for sewage sludge sanitation will be verified:

  • Pure oxygen will be used - OSS
  • Multiferm technology
  • Thermal sanitation of sludge
  • Sanitation of sludge using lime
  • Long-term storage of sludge

The main results of the project will be as follows:

  1. Proven technology of oxygen sludge sanitation - OSS technology
  2. Proven sludge sanitation technology with Multiferm technology
  3. Proven technology of thermal sanitation of sludge
  4. Proven technology of sludge sanitization by long-term storage of sludge
  5. Proven technology of sludge sanitization by lime application
  6. Utility model of equipment for sludge thickener

The coordinator of the project consortium is the company ASIO TECH, spol. s r.o. Another members of the project teams are VIA ALTA, a.s. and Brno University of Technology.

The project Sludge Hygienization for Smaller Sources of Pollution No.CZ.01.1.02/0,0/0,0/20_321/ 0024624 is solved with financial support provided by the subsidy program of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Application VIII. The duration of the project is two years in the period from 1 June 2021 to 31 May 2023.
